About Us

Every year, countries and organizations get together at a big meeting called the Conference of Parties (COP) to figure out how to deal with climate change. The last COP 28 happened in Dubai in 2023.

We, the students of New Star-Pole School, are hosting our own Model COP called ‘Model COP X NSPS’ in Kathmandu, 2024. It's like a role-playing game where we act as leaders and talk about climate problems and solutions. We want to agree on a plan to mitigate the climate change surrounding our decided theme, as drafted by the host-country Nepal, along with the UNFCCC committee.

The Model COP X NSPS, Kathmandu, 2024, provides a unique opportunity for students to step into the shoes of global leaders and engage in meaningful discussions on climate change and ecosystem restoration. By aligning with the global vision of the Decade of Ecosystem Restoration, the conference aims to instill a sense of responsibility and urgency among the youth to contribute to a sustainable and resilient future.

The initiative to host model “ COP X NSPS” by the students of New Star Pole School involving the selected students of community school with the theme “ Heal the Ecosystem” is actually a brand new and beautiful concept to engage and educate students about the current status of the ecosystem and the measures to heal it. We Himalayan Heroes Team with a theme “United Voice of Students for Cleaner, Safer and Healthier Nepal” also started our journey from school level only. These types of programs create a bigger impact on every individual student participating. As Nepal is a country with immense natural resources, this type of table discussions from student level brings many young and fresh ideas for ecosystem restoration. I would like to congratulate and thank New Star Pole School and Kageshwori Manohara Municipality for initiating this program with such a burning theme and also wish luck to all the students participating in this program.
